STEMsapien Games had a whirlwind March, with their founder, Rose Leach Basom, presenting the development of EvoHom at the 91st Annual Meeting of the American Association of Biological Anthropologists in Denver, Colorado! Her poster, in collaboration with Fanuel Muindi and Jazmin Rios from the Stem Advocacy Institute, garnered much attention and support from the biological anthropology community during the live session Friday evening, March 25th.

In addition, Rose, also a member of the AABA education committee, had the opportunity to present at a educator workshop on Saturday, March 26th, at the Denver Museum of Nature and Science. This workshop was part of outreach efforts to the local Denver science educator community (and surrounding areas), providing them with materials and discussion to help support/navigate teaching human evolution in the K-12 classroom. STEMsapien Games gave a 40-minute presentation on the benefits of board game-based learning, along with an introduction of EvoHom and how it is being developed with high school educators in mind.

STEMsapien Games looks forward to returning to the 92nd Meeting of AABA in Reno, NV next year, and cannot wait to show the biological anthropology community how our efforts have progressed!
