Serving Science Educators in Underserved Communities, One Board Game at a Time.
STEMsapien Games was created to help address some of the biggest issues science educators face when trying to incorporate alternative teaching methods into their curricula: time and funding. Our mission is to increase accessibility to science-focused, game-based learning in underserved urban and rural high schools.
We create fun and engaging board games centered around themes within biological anthropology that are rooted in the Common Core State Standards Initiative, designed for classroom play. Each of our games comes with a lesson plan specially developed so educators can easily incorporate game-based learning into their curricula, saving them time. We also develop these games to played outside of the classroom, where they can be enjoyed by families and friends of different ages! Through sales of our game and funds raised in crowdfunding, we are able to take part of these profits to manufacture more copies of our games to distribute to science educators in underserved rural and urban high schools for free; no need to worry about funding. Educators that are not members of these communities will still be able to purchase our games at a significantly reduced, educational discount rate.
